This particular helicopter was part of the Presidential Fleet of the United States. Originally known as H-34 these aircraft were redesignated to CH-34 in 1962. The VH-34C (CH-34C) was a staff transport variation of the basic model. Sikorsky produced 2,108 H-34 helicopters, many more were produced under license.
