This aircraft was introduced in 1945 and 225 units were built for (primarily) the US Navy and British Royal Air Force. Most of the R-6’s were built by Nash-Kelvinator. Of those 36 were used by the US Navy (designated HOS-1) and 27 by the RAF (Hoverly II).
