War Eagles Air Museum, Santa Teresa, New Mexico The Storch excelled in slow speed flying, take off, and landing. This capability enabled it to be used in very restricted spaces. It entered service in the German military in 1937. It was retired from military service in 1945 (Germany) and 1970 (France). This aircraft had a production run of over 2,900. The wings of this (land-based) aircraft could be folded back along the fuselage for transport on a trailer or, in some cases, towed.
