This aircraft, the "Cotton Clipper Cutie”, was piloted to victory
in the Powder Puff Derby in 1954 by Ruby Hays. That race was
from Long Beach, CA. to Knoxville, TN.. The 140A was introduced
in 1949. This model represented the shift from fabric to aluminum covered wings.
