War Eagle Air Museum, Santa Teresa, NM
This is a 20mm gun capable of firing 1,000 rounds per minute. The gun
was permanently mounted in aircraft such as the museum’s A-7 and used for self protection and close support of friendly ground troops. This type of gun was also used in helicopters and C-130 aircraft for air and ground saturation firing.
